Senior Interview Day

Brought to you by your local DECA chapter!

Every Senior at DHS had the opportunity to participate in a mock interview on April 30, 2013. Local business people and area leaders donated their time so our seniors could have a "real experience." Students had a 10 minute interview based on their resumes and their transferable skills. The interview was followed by a five minute constructive critique with their interviewer on things that they could do to improve and to discuss the positives from the interview. Each student also received a formal evaluation from their interviewer.

Scream: Stranger Danger!
Bailey Petrey& Logan Boone

This project is personal for Bailey and Logan. They each have three year old brothers. With help from DECA members: Sydney Pettus, Taylor Cooper, Houston Davis, Walker Davis, WIll Tucker and Kathleen Saliba, Logan and Bailey presented the dangers STRANGERS can present. The group spoke with children in several sites and performed a skit. The STRANGER ends up going to jail and the children practice screaming. It is an ongoing project. If you would like DECA to present this to your group, give me a call at 289-0294 ext 23.

The Halloween Carnival was a huge success and so much fun! We had 25 students volunteer (in costume) to work various games, face paint and serve the residents at WoodHaven. Thank you! I have the most awesome DECA chapter ever!

Check out some pictures from the day.
